Welcome to the Social Media Masterclass

Welcome to the Social Media Masterclass. Today, we're going to dive into the reasons why your social media presence might not be growing as you hoped. We'll explore why you may be stuck with the same number of followers for so long, and even if you do have followers, why they may not be converting into clients.

Why You're Not Growing on Social Media
Social media is the place to be, yet you've launched before and no one bought. Where's the great community that everyone talks about? Today, we’ll address the lies people tell you, the mistakes you might be making, and introduce a four-step process to build your personal brand, so you can finally get known for who you are and get paid to be who you are.

Who Is This Session For?
This session is for

  • entrepreneurs who believe they have the perfect product, the expertise, and everything people need but are unsure how to attract their dream clients.
  • It’s also for creative professionals who feel their skills aren’t fully utilized in a 9 to 5 and want to turn their passion into a business.
  • Coaches and consultants who want to make a real impact but need to find the right audience, and
  • Speakers—whether current or aspiring—who have a story to tell but lack the exposure.

What to Expect from This Masterclass
Today, we will discuss why you don’t need a niche to be successful, how to infuse your authentic self into your content without exposing your private life, and the fastest way to stop caring about what others think so you can focus on building your brand and business online.

  • If you’re tired of following trends that don’t feel authentic or haven’t worked in the past, or
  • if you feel like you’re all over the place because of multiple passions, this training is for you.
  • If you’re exhausted from trying different strategies with no results and tired of masculine business advice that tells you to constantly pitch and sell on social media, you’ll find a more feminine approach here.

About Me
Hi, I’m Sina Port, a keynote speaker, wife, mother, entrepreneur, and Fortune 500 brand consultant. I’ve worked with brands like Adidas and BMW, and I firmly believe in learning from those today that have already achieved what you want to. That’s why today, I’m excited to share my secrets, including how I grew 80,000 followers in six months—a strategy that worked not just for me, but also for my students and mentees.

Success Stories
Let’s talk about Arzu, who joined this very Masterclass. She was able to grow 10,000 followers not in a month, but in a week, and even received inquiries about her coaching services without having promoted them anywhere.

The Moment Everything Changed
About seven years ago, I had my 'I’m done' moment. I was freshly married, on my honeymoon, and instead of relaxing, I was exhausted. I don’t know if you can relate to this—you’ll let me know—but I had everything people told me I needed. I had my master’s degree and my bachelor’s degree, years of experience, I had worked with Google, I had built my own businesses before, and I was still chasing clients, cold emailing customers. I was done going to networking events trying to pitch myself. I was done trying to prove myself to people.

Then, in that moment, everything changed for me. My mentor said, "Sina, you're trying too hard. How do you catch butterflies?" I responded, "Well, you have that net thing and you run around with it, trying to catch them."

My mentor corrected me and said, "No, you don’t catch butterflies. You build a garden and let them come to you."

And that’s when it hit me. If butterflies are the opportunities you want in your business, your life, or your career, then your personal brand is that garden. This realization became the foundation of my approach to building a personal brand and attracting opportunities, instead of chasing them.

Building Your Personal Brand
Building a personal brand isn’t about trying to fit into trends or changing who you are. It’s about being yourself and letting your audience come to you. I’ve spent years figuring out how to build my brand authentically, without boxing myself into a niche, and today, I’ll share those learnings with you.

The Importance of Being Known
Even if you’re the best at what you do, if no one knows you, it won’t get you anywhere. Being known beats being the best. You have so much value to share, and there are others with large audiences who don’t use their platform for positive impact. You have a duty to yourself to stop listening to naysayers and start becoming known.

Taking Action
Knowledge is only powerful if you apply it. I want you to promise yourself right now that you will take action. Grab your phone, open Instagram, go to your stories, and take a picture with your hand under the butterfly you see on screen. Caption it "Time to attract my butterflies" and tag me at @sinaportofficial. Let’s get into how you can start attracting your butterflies.

Finding My Own Way
When I first started, no one talked about the feminine way to build a personal brand. The advice out there was irrelevant to me. I had to find my own way, through trial and error, to build a brand that allowed me to be myself and still get paid for it.

A Journey of Self-Discovery
Growing up in a small German village, I always knew I was meant for more. I had six jobs before I was 16, learning what I didn’t like before discovering what I did. After multiple failures, I found my strength in branding and storytelling.

Step One: Embrace the Feminine Way

In order to grow on social media, you need to bring out the imperfect parts of yourself. The number one way to stand out is to stop trying to fit into a niche. Instead of focusing on one thing you’ll do for the rest of your life—an approach that’s very masculine—embrace the feminine way: be who you are and let others come to you.

You don't need to pick a niche; you need to become the niche.

What makes you different from other people? Often, these differences might seem like disadvantages, but they are your strengths.

For example, if you’re in the fitness field and talk about getting fit, the typical advice like "just get into a calorie deficit to lose weight" can be boring and repetitive. But imagine seeing that same advice from a woman who is also a mother, shares your cultural background, and has a similar story. She might say, "I didn’t know how to lose weight after having my baby, and my stomach felt like marshmallow. Here’s what I did to get back to my dream body." That’s a video I’d want to watch because it’s relatable and personal.

That’s how you become the niche.

Step Two: Tell Your Story

We all know the old format of giving value through "three tips to..." doesn’t work as well anymore. What does work is telling your story. Instead of saying, "You need to get out of your comfort zone," say, "Three years ago, I was the laziest person on this planet. Here are three things that helped me get out of my comfort zone." Now, that’s a video I’d want to watch.

Ask yourself: What happened in my personal life that changed the way I look at my business, career, field, or industry?

For example, one of my students used to work in HR and was let go because she had a chronic disease. Now, she wants to help companies by consulting their HR teams and creating workshops on how to deal with employees who have chronic diseases. Instead of saying, "I’m in HR and here are three ways to create an inclusive workplace," she tells her story: "I have a chronic disease, I got let go, and now I want to change the industry." That’s the kind of story that gets you hired to speak on big stages and consult for major brands.

Step Three: Share Your Story

You have to post on social media, and what’s working right now is videos—especially short-form videos like reels and TikToks. This format works on Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms. One of my most viral posts on LinkedIn, which led to four clients and speaking opportunities, was a simple "day in the life" reel.

The key is to tell your story in snippets, using 7- to 30-second reels. You don’t need to share a 15-minute video about how you got let go and your chronic disease journey. Instead, break it down into bite-sized pieces that keep people engaged.

How Often Should You Post?

You need to post every day. I know it sounds overwhelming, especially when you’re busy with work and family.

But think about this: If your child asked you what you needed to do to become successful and you said, "I just had to post a 7-second reel every day, but I didn’t do it," how would you feel? I applied this strategy when I had a newborn, and it worked.

You can’t tell me that out of 24 hours in a day, you can’t find time to post a 7-second reel.

If you have under 1,000 followers, you need to post three times a day. If you have under 5,000 followers, post once or twice a day. Wherever you are, if you’re not growing, you need to post every day. Talk about what makes you unique—what I call your "unfair advantage." This is the thing that makes you stand out and cannot be replicated by others.

What Else Works on Social Media?

Posting daily short-form videos is important. Don’t overthink hashtags or captions. Hashtags worked five years ago, but they’re not going to make or break your post today. The most important metric is how many people watch your entire video—and ideally, they should watch it again. To achieve this, the first three seconds of your video need to hook the viewer in and make them want to see more.

Once you post, leave the app for an hour—this is what I call "post and ghost." It helps you detach from the ego-driven need for immediate feedback. Before you post, interact with your audience by commenting on your last post. This will drive engagement to your new post when it goes live.

How to Attract Your Perfect Audience

Your comments are key to attracting your perfect community. Encourage interaction by asking questions in your caption or video, and make sure to respond to every comment. Clients will often reach out to you through direct messages (DMs). Instead of promoting or selling directly on social media, create content that attracts clients naturally.

For speaking and consulting opportunities, focus on SEO keywords in your profile descriptions. On Instagram, use keywords in your name description (e.g., "Keynote Speaker"). On LinkedIn, include keywords in your headline. These keywords are how you’ll be discovered for the opportunities you want.

By following these steps and consistently sharing your unique story, you’ll attract the right audience, grow your social media presence, and stand out in your field.

What to do next

I told you in the beginning, there are two ways for us to go here. You can take all this knowledge and apply it because you gave me that promise that you're gonna attract those butterflies, okay? You promised it. But there is also another way, and if there would be a way to use this method and walk this path together, we should take it.

You probably know that the time we have here is not enough to build your entire garden from scratch, to grow on social media, and develop ways to get paid for it. The second way is to walk this path together with me. And that is

the Garden Mentoring Program.
